Nice can now unofficially claim the title of French musical capital as Maroon 5 announce their only tour date in France there this summer.
Following in the footsteps of Coldplay, multi platinum-selling and Grammy Award®-winning rock band Maroon 5 will play only one date in France this summer — and Nice is the venue of choice. The « Sugar » gents will be at the Espace Nikaia on the 29th of May…just 5 days after Coldplay’s appearance at the Stade Charles Ehrmann. What a treat for local music fans!
Maroon 5’s upcoming and much anticipated European tour will come in support of the highly successful “V” and their new Greatest Hits album ‘Singles’ which was released last September but also probably of their 6th studio album, which they are putting together at the moment and should be released this year.
Not much is know of this new effort save for the fact that it has been called a ‘back to roots’ style album and that eight songs have already been recorded. But new album or not, there is no doubt that Maroon 5 is one of the biggest rock act of the moment.
With their hybrid sound of pop, rock and R & B, the band has won fans around the world as soon as they introduced their debut single, “Harder to Breathe” in 2002 from the acclaimed album “Songs About Jane”.
Since then, they have nabbed 3 Grammys, recorded duets with the likes of Rihanna and Christina Aguilera, sold more than 17 million copies of their albums in over 35 countries and toured extensively around the globe. And of course, female fans will probably add that frontman Adam Levine, who is one of the judges on the US version of The Voice, was crowned sexiest man alive in 2013.
Maroon 5 plays the Espace Nikaïa in Nice on Sunday, 29th of May 2016 at 8:00 pm. Tickets range in price from 73 € to 78.50 € and can be purchased through all the usual outlets or booked online.
