The Port of Cannes once again invites submissions from photographers of all standards and abilities for the 2014 Cannes Photo Awards.
With the theme of ‘Eau et mouvement’ (Water and Movement), the 2014 Cannes Photo Awards recognise the importance of the sea in the development of man’s desire to explore and make new discoveries, to move beyond his own comfort zone. The port played a major part in this development, prior to the arrival of air travel.
The Port of Cannes has thus organised this competition, to encourage entrants to portray what the port means to them, and show how it impacts their daily lives, through the means of photography.
The competition is open to all and there is no entry fee. There are four categories for entrants, those being:-
– Children (up to 12 years of age)
– Teenagers (13 to 17 years of age)
– Adults (from 18 years upwards)
– Professional photographers or professional architects
In addition to the prestige of participating in the Cannes Photo Awards, the winning photographs in each category will be exhibited at the port of Cannes, alongside other big names in photography. The organisers tell us that there are also some great prizes up for grabs. Submissions must be made by 29th June, 2014, and you may apply online.
